Install Teklink “Excel Click-to-Call” Add-in (Manifest XML)

What you need


Step 1 — Download the manifest XML (required for all methods)

  1. Open this link in your browser:
    https://cfg.theteklink.com/c2cexcel/manifest.xml

  2. Press Ctrl + S (Windows) or Cmd + S (Mac)

  3. Save the file as:
    teklink-click-to-call.xml
    (Make sure it ends with .xml, not .txt)


Option A — Excel on the Web / Microsoft 365 (signed in)

  1. Go to office.com and open Excel

  2. Open any workbook (or create a blank workbook)

  3. Go to Home → Add-ins

  4. Click More Add-ins (or More Settings)

  5. Choose Upload My Add-in

  6. Select your saved file: teklink-click-to-call.xml

  7. Click Upload / Add

After installing, go to the Home tab and look for the “Excel Click to Call” button to open the task pane (location may vary by Excel version).


Because Excel 2021 offline often does not show “Upload My Add-in”, use this method.

B1) Put the XML into a local folder

  1. Create a folder:
    C:\AddinCatalog

  2. Move the manifest file into it:
    C:\AddinCatalog\teklink-click-to-call.xml

B2) Share the folder (creates a network path)

  1. Right-click C:\AddinCatalogProperties

  2. Open Sharing tab → Share…

  3. Share it (for testing you can share to “Everyone – Read”)

  4. Note the “Network Path”, for example:
    \\YOURPCNAME\AddinCatalog

B3) Add the shared folder as a Trusted Add-in Catalog

  1. Open Excel 2021

  2. Go to File → Options

  3. Trust Center → Trust Center Settings…

  4. Click Trusted Add-in Catalogs

  5. In Catalog Url, paste the network path:
    \\YOURPCNAME\AddinCatalog

  6. Click Add catalog

  7. Check Show in Menu

  8. Click OK, OK

  9. Close Excel completely and reopen it

B4) Install the add-in from “Shared Folder”

  1. In Excel: Home → Add-ins → More Add-ins
    (sometimes Insert → Get Add-ins depending on ribbon)

  2. Open the Shared Folder tab

  3. Select Excel Click-to-CallAdd


After installation: first-time setup

  1. Open the add-in task pane (Home tab → “Excel Click to Call”)

  2. Enter your Click-to-Call URL template (if using URL mode), You can request from Teklink this URL.

  3. Optional: enable the TEL: switch if you want to use your computer’s default dialer/softphone

  4. Start typing to search the sheet, click a row to view details, click a phone value to call


Troubleshooting

“I saved it but it’s not an XML file”

  • When saving, make sure the filename ends with .xml

  • If it saved as manifest.xml.txt, rename it to manifest.xml

“I don’t see Upload My Add-in”

  • This is common on Excel 2021 not signed in

  • Use Option B (Shared Folder / Trusted Add-in Catalog) instead

“Trusted Add-in Catalogs is missing”

  • Some installations/policies hide it

  • In that case, you’ll need your IT/admin to deploy the add-in (Microsoft 365 org deployment), or use a signed-in Excel option.
